Physical Education

The Physical Education faculty aims to inspire healthy active lifestyles through a varied, challenging and enjoyable sporting programme. ISB is an inclusive school, which is shown in PE through our belief that PE and Sport is for everyone.

Through a variety of sports and activities, the PE curriculum develops skillful, creative and intelligent performers who are confident, resilient, and show initiative when responding to new and challenging environments. We aim to shape values such as teamwork, respect, and fair play, whilst ensuring opportunities for both collaboration and competition throughout the school year. Our annual Interhouse Sports Day and Swimming Galas focus on mass participation whilst allowing a platform for our most-able able athletes to shine.

In PE, students are exposed to a broad and balanced range of activities that are recognised all over the world. Such as football, swimming, basketball, and athletics as well as modern, alternative activities such as pickle ball and personal survival/lifesaving. Lessons are designed to progressively build physical confidence and competence in a safe and supportive environment. This approach allows students to discover activities they enjoy and can pursue through our eclectic range of extra-curricular activities, clubs, and sports fixtures.

By the end of their Physical Education journey at ISB, students will have a positive attitude towards physical activity and be equipped with the knowledge and skills to maintain active, healthy lifestyles.
