PE During Ramadan for Year 3 - Year 11
During Ramadan, PE lessons will continue in a supportive and considerate way for all students. Activities will be adapted to low-intensity and held indoors, with a focus on light movement, skill development, and teamwork rather than strenuous exercise. Students who are fasting will not be expected to overexert themselves, and staff will monitor wellbeing throughout lessons. All students are required to bring their full PE kit, including appropriate trainers, so they can participate comfortably and safely. If you have any concerns about your child’s participation during this period, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Year 7  HoY Weekly Message
Huge congratulations to our FOBISIA students for their incredible achievements! Well, done! Also, well done to all year 7 students who participated in the ''Dare to Do" speech competition! Next week we are looking forward to Math's Week across the school. Lots of fun activites to join in!
Have a wonderful long weekend!

Year 8&9 HoY Weekly Message
It has been a busy and exciting week for our Year 8 and Year 9 students as we have taken part in Careers Week. Students have had the opportunity to attend a range of talks, assemblies and the Careers Fair, which have helped them begin thinking about the many different pathways and opportunities available to them in the future. It has been great to see students engaging with the visitors, asking thoughtful questions and showing curiosity about different careers.

Next week we are looking forward to Maths Week across the school. There will be a range of fun activities and challenges taking place throughout the week. I might be a little biased as a maths teacher, but it is definitely one of the best weeks in the school calendar!

This weekend is also a long weekend, with school closed on Monday, and after next week we will reach the end of term. I hope students enjoy the long weekend and return refreshed for our final week.
Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Year 10&11 HoY Weekly Message
Year 11 have been working hard as many have attended additional support for subject clinics. Teachers will give tips and suggestions for effective revision over the 2-week holiday during lessons next week. It is of course crucial that students dedicate significant amounts of time to independent revision over the upcoming holiday period. If any students have any doubt about exactly what they should be working on over the holiday they must ask their teachers, who will be more than happy to repeat their suggestions. There will only be a few weeks left of lessons once they return (with the final day of lessons before study leave being on Wednesday 22 April).

Year 10 and Year 11 engaged fully with the Careers week activities and the Careers Fair and it is great to see a large number of Year 10s (and a few Year 11s) fully involved with preparation for the upcoming BGIC event.

Year 12 & 13 HoY Weekly Message
Year 12 have had an important week with the first deadline for the Extended Essay taking place. It is vital that students make every effort to meet school deadlines and communicate with their teachers/supervisors when they need help. These are essentials that will help Year 12 continue to make good progress throughout the IB. They have also had a headstart on the how to

Year 13 have been busy this week with the IB Language orals taking place – I'm glad to say that students still seemed to be smiling afterwards, so it looks as though all went well! Year 13 also had the opportunity this week to consider their financial wellbeing for the future in a session run by an external financial adviser in which they considered their potential expenses, necessities and savings.

Pre U students have also been able to benefit from a range of speakers throughout Careers Week sharing their experiences and answering questions and this will culminate in the Careers Fair on Friday.

Head of Residence Weekly Message:
It has been a positive and calm week in the ISB Residence, with a number of meaningful moments for our boarders.

This week, our boarders took part in their self-organised Brunei’s National Day celebrations, which was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about the country we are fortunate to live and study in. Events such as this help boarders develop a deeper understanding of local culture and traditions while strengthening their sense of global awareness.

As the holy month of Ramadan continues, the Residence community has been mindful and respectful in supporting those who are fasting. Boarders and staff have been considerate of the different routines that come with Ramadan, particularly around meals, evening activities, and rest. It has been encouraging to see the community demonstrate kindness, understanding, and cultural respect during this important time.
Overall, it has been a quiet and settled week in the Residence, with students focusing on their studies as exams and assessments approach. Staff have been pleased with the positive atmosphere in the house and the way boarders continue to support one another in their daily routines.
