Key Stage Three (Year 7-9)
The ISB Key Stage 3 Curriculum for Year 7 to 9 builds on the foundations of knowledge, understanding and skills developed in the Primary School. It seeks to deliver a 21st century education to meet the needs of our young and society. It aims to ensure that our children become well rounded leaders for the future; children that grow into
-
Successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve
-
Confident individuals who are able to lead safe, healthy and fulfilling lives
-
internationally-minded global citizens who make a positive contribution to society
In order to meet the interests and needs of individual students, as well as the changing demands and challenges society poses, there is a need to support children in a number of core areas such as functional skills but also in terms of their personal, learning and thinking skills.

The secondary Key Stage Three curriculum is very broad and delivered by specialist subject teachers. Students study a range of subjects including English, Maths and Science as well as Humanities (Geo, Hist), Arts (Performaing Arts, Music, Visual Art), Technology (DT and Computer Science), Languages (Malay, Spanish, Fench, Mandarin) and sports and PE.

Assessment at KS3
Year 7-9
Assessment at ISB aims to support students with their next steps in learning. We use a criteria based system where students are assessed against key knowledge, understanding and skills related to the specific subject.
Assessment grades are 'best fit' and based on all evidence from tests to extended pieces of writing to presentations and more.
Assessment is about challenging students by informing them what their next steps in learning are.
