Studying visual arts at ISB nurtures creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking. It encourages students to explore their individuality at a critical time in their lives whilst engaging with a wide range of materials, techniques, and ideas. Through hands-on practice, students develop technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media, as well as the ability to solve problems creatively. They learn to observe the world around them, interpret experiences, and communicate through visual language.

Visual arts also promotes cultural awareness by exposing students to diverse artistic traditions and contemporary practices. By analyzing the work of other artists and reflecting on their own creations, students develop an appreciation for art’s role in society and its ability to convey complex ideas.

The value of visual arts lies not only in artistic skill-building but also in fostering personal growth. It builds confidence, discipline, and resilience as students take risks, experiment, and learn from both successes and challenges. These experiences equip students with transferable skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication, preparing them for creative problem-solving in a variety of future endeavors.
